As the air cools and the holiday season peeks around the corner, November always brings us back to what matters most, giving.

Not just the kind that comes wrapped in shiny paper (though we do love a good gift moment), but the kind that comes straight from the heart.

This month, we’re celebrating the spirit of generosity, in all its forms. Because giving isn’t just about money or big gestures. Sometimes it’s about time, attention, kindness, and choosing to show up for the people right around you.

Charity Begins at Home

We often think of “charity” as something external, donating to a cause, attending a fundraiser, supporting a nonprofit. And those things matter deeply. But true generosity starts much closer to home.

It’s checking in on a neighbor who lives alone. It’s dropping off a coffee for the friend who’s had a tough week. It’s being patient with your team when life gets messy. It’s saying thank you more often, and meaning it.

These aren’t headline-grabbing acts. But they’re the kind that make everyday life warmer, softer, and more connected.

Because when we start giving in small, intentional ways, the world around us starts to shift, one kind moment at a time.

The Causes Close to Our Heart

At Kick Ass Swag, giving is built into what we do. We believe good brands, and good people, use their influence to make the world a little brighter.

Year round, we give back to a few organizations that inspire us with their heart and impact:

Rainbow Labs – Rainbow Labs is a bold, joyful space where Queer and Gender Nonconforming youth can be themselves, find community, and explore who they want to become. www.rainbowlabs.org

Shoes for Scholars – weaving the dream of a better tomorrow through resources and educational opportunities for students that are in need of the basics. www.shoesforscholars.org

Al Davis Eddie Robinson Leadership Academy - dedicated to empowering youth through education, leadership, sports, and life-preparedness programs. https://theacademy.com/

We love supporting these causes — and we encourage you to find the ones that speak to your heart. But remember: giving doesn’t always mean donating. Sometimes it just means giving energy, time, and kindness.

Simple Ways to Give This Month

Want to join us in making November a little more generous? Here are a few ideas to start:

  • Buy a meal for someone who could use a little lift, a neighbor, a friend, or even a stranger.

  • Send a thank-you note to someone who impacted your year.

  • Volunteer locally, even for a few hours, it all counts.

  • Share your skills, help a small business, a student, or a nonprofit with what you do best.

  • Just show up, sometimes presence is the most valuable gift of all.

The truth is, we all have something to give, and when we do, it comes back threefold.

Giving Is Contagious

Here’s the beautiful thing: kindness spreads. The more you give, the more others are inspired to do the same.

So whether you’re donating to a cause, lifting up your team, or just being the reason someone smiles today, you’re making a difference.

And that’s what this month (and honestly, every month) should be about.

Here’s to giving with heart, leading with kindness, and making generosity part of our everyday brand of awesome.
